5 Double Round US Chess Rated Swiss System Tournament
- Swiss Tournament format means no eliminations
- Play 10 games: white and black against each opponent
- US Chess Blitz Rated
- Limited to players rated under 1800 or not rated.
Time Control
Game/3 + 2 second increment. This means each player starts with 3 minutes and 2 more seconds are added after every move. Please bring a chess clock if you have one.
Two Sections by Age
- 14 & under (born after June 7, 2009)
- 9 & under (born after June 7, 2014)
Trophies
- Top 5 Players in each Section
- Top Player in each Rating Class
- 14 & under: 1300-1499, 1100-1299, 900-1099, under 900, unrated
- 9 & under: 1000-1199, 800-999, 600-799, under 600, unrated
There must be at least 3 players eligible for each prize that is to be awarded.
The June US Chess Rating Supplement will be used. Other ratings may be used if higher or at the TD’s discretion. If you pre-register and your rating changes you will be moved up automatically or down on request.
The decision of the chief tournament director regarding player eligibility, rating adjustments, unofficial ratings, or similar issues is final.
Entry Fee
$30 by May 28, $40 later
Schedule
- Late Registration 5 – 6:00 p.m.
- Round 1 starts at 6:30 p.m.
Membership
Membership in the U.S. Chess Federation is required of all players. You may join with your entry or on site. Players will not be allowed to complete the tournament without a valid membership.
